Expert Surgical Technique Panel at the 2nd World Congress on Thyroid Cancer

Austin’s own fellowship-trained Endocrine Head and Neck Surgeon, Dr. Teresa Kroeker, was one of five surgeons who served on the expert surgical technique panel at the 2nd World Congress on Thyroid Cancer held in Toronto, Ontario, July 10-14, 2013. The World Thyroid Congress is a global multidisciplinary meeting of all specialties involved in the field of thyroid cancer. Keynote topics included use of genetic molecular markers, surgical approaches to thyroid cancer, surgical management of metastatic disease in the neck, long-term follow-up and surveillance of thyroid cancer, and systemic treatment of thyroid cancer.

Dr. Kroeker was also selected to serve on the course faculty for the American College of Surgery Thyroid/Parathyroid Ultrasound Certification Course in Toronto during the World Thyroid Congress. This course teaches the principles and physics of ultrasound, the anatomy of the neck, ultrasound evaluation of thyroid and parathyroid disease, and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration techniques.

Guest Speaker at The University of Texas Club about Thyroid Disease

Dr. Teresa Kroeker had the honor of being asked to be a guest speaker at The University of Texas Club about thyroid disease. She discussed anatomy, physiology, and thyroid diseases including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer.
